Custom Domain Certificates: Overview
Every GlueOps cluster automatically provides TLS for hostnames under your captain domain (e.g. myapp.apps.nonprod.mycompany.glueopshosted.com). This section covers certificates for domains you own — www.example.com, *.example.com, api.otherdomain.com — served by applications on the platform.
Automated Certificates with cert-manager (Route53)
Issue and automatically renew Let's Encrypt certificates — including wildcards — for a domain whose DNS is hosted in your own AWS Route53 account. Everything runs inside your application's namespace using the standard app Helm chart: no platform changes, and your AWS credential is only readable by your own workloads.
Manual Certificates with certbot
Issue a multi-domain (including wildcard) certificate yourself with certbot, upload it to your environment's secrets vault, and have the platform serve it on your ingress. Use this when you want certificates fully under your control, or when your DNS provider isn't supported by cert-manager.
